Are you a civil society representative, human rights defender, activist, or media professional in Moldova interested in enhancing your safety online? Apply for a comprehensive two-day in-person training organised by ARTICLE 19 Europe and regional digital security experts. You will learn how to strengthen your organisation’s and personal digital hygiene, privacy, and safety practices.

About the Trainings 

The two-day hands-on training will help you protect your communications, devices, and sensitive data. You will learn to identify and mitigate digital threats and receive on-site expert support to secure your devices and accounts, in real time. 

 

Participants will gain practical knowledge on: 

  • Recent targeted digital attacks in the region, with real-life examples and technical explanations 
  • How to protect your messages from unauthorised access 
  • Common and emerging digital security challenges faced by civil society in Moldova 
  • Assessing and improving your organisation’s digital security measures 
  • Protecting key accounts, computers, and smartphones from typical attacks 
  • Recommended security practices and tools for safer online presence 

 

The training will be conducted in Russian, with Romanian translation available.

Participants interested in developing their knowledge further and becoming digital security trainers and experts themselves, will have the opportunity to join a Training of Trainers (ToT) in February 2026, followed by a three-month online mentorship and a mini-grants program to support their own initiatives.

These trainings are part of the DigitalSafeguard, a project led by ARTICLE 19 Europe, with support from local partners. The initiative aims to enhance the digital resilience of civil society in Ukraine and Moldova, amid escalating threats such as hacking, surveillance, phishing, malware, data theft, cyberbullying, and digital intimidation. The program focuses on capacity-building to strengthen the resilience of digital security providers and their ability to deliver effective support, while also equipping civil society and vulnerable groups with practical tools needed to protect themselves against digital threats. By fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing, DigitalSafeguard promotes safer digital landscape with robust support systems, enabling civil society to safely exercise their fundamental freedoms and human rights.
