In a joint oral statement to the UN Human Rights Council 28th Session, ARTICLE 19 and FIDH pay particular attention to recommendations on the protection of human rights defenders and journalists. We also call for a dramatic improvement in terms of cooperation with the UN special procedures and proactive steps to repeal and amend legislation that is unduly restrictive of free of expression and access to information.
