Event: Protecting the universality of human rights against the backdrop of nationalist trends in Europe

A panel of regional experts, brought together by the Human Rights House Network – of which ARTICLE 19 is a member – will discuss the impact of the current wave of nationalist protest across the region Europe. How can we ensure that fundamental human rights continue to transcend borders and narrow nationalist objectives – and challenge the forces that limit freedoms of expression and assembly in the countries where the organisation works?

The event begins at 18.30 with networking drinks and music from Kim Barton and Dave Bitelli.

The Network will also announce the winner of the 2014 Human Rights House Network Photography Prize at the event. The winning photographer will receive funding to create a new photographic study of a human rights issue in their country, for further exhibition in Europe in 2015.
Tickets are free, but due to limited space, this event is by invitation only.

The programme is supported by the Human Rights House Foundation, Oslo, one of a series of events and activities to mark the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Network.
