ARTICLE 19 and the Association for Free Thought and Expression (AFTE) delivered a joint oral statement at the UN Human Rights Council 28th Session ahead of the adoption of Egypt’s UPR.

We highlight recommendations that need urgent implementation such as accountability for the use of lethal force on protesters, repealing the Protest Law, releasing journalists from prison, and stopping the crackdown on civil society and harsh restrictions on foreign funding.
