On 8 December, Anna Oosterlinck, ARTICLE 19’s Senior Advisor on Global Advocacy, contributed to the consultation on Revision 2 of the World Summit on the Information Society +20 (WSIS+20) implementation, a process that was led by the Informal Multistakeholder Sounding Board (IMSB).

In her general remarks, Oosterlinck emphasised thatsustainable development and human rights are interdependent and mutually reinforcing’ and that human rights are universal, belonging to everyone, everywhere, without distinction’.

Referring specifically to Revision 2, ARTICLE 19 recommends strengthening human rights safeguards across the whole text, particularly on Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), data governance, and Artificial Intelligence. Furthermore, Oosterlinck highlights the section on human rights, commenting specifically on six key issues.
