Regional programmes
ARTICLE 19 programmes are managed according to the geo-political regions of: Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe and Central Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa (commonly called MENA).
In 2007, ARTICLE 19 regionalised, moving from a single office to a growing number of regional offices supported by an international office in London.
Regionalisation enables us to better understand the local realities and context of our work. All regional offices are supported by our London office.
Over the past few years we have had offices in Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Brazil, Kenya, Lebanon, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Nepal, New York, Senegal, Tunisia and Ukraine. Today, staff in our regional offices manage most of our regional programmes, together with our partners.
Our aim is to establish and support strong regional presences with sustainable local ownership and operational autonomy. These will enable empowered staff to work towards the realisation of ARTICLE 19’s priorities.
