OSCE
Originally set up during the cold war as an east-west forum, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe now monitors security, democracy and freedoms. ARTICLE 19 supports OSCE to ensure that their work on human rights, elections and freedom of the press is effective.
In the OSCE Final Act, participating states declare that they will “act in conformity with the purposes and principles” of the UDHR and:
“… promote and encourage the effective exercise of civil, political, economic, social, cultural and other rights and freedoms all of which derive from the inherent dignity of the human person and are essential for his free and full development.”
