Broadcasting
Television and radio broadcasters are the greatest source of information, particularly for the poor. Broadcasting spectrums (available wavelengths that can carry signals) are limited, unlike the printed press, and they therefore need detailed regulation. ARTICLE 19 checks that governments do not use regulation to their own advantage at the expense of the broadcast media’s independence, reliability and diversity.
