Our reminder for President Felipe Calderon
Last monday President Felipe Calderon gave his "state of the union" speech. In that speech he forgot completely to talk about violence against the press (he mentioned one sentence).
So we launched an infographic in Mexico and said that in his administration: 48 journalists have been killed; there have been 35 attacks with explosives or firearms against media facilities; 8 journalists have been victims of disappearance; and a new phenomenon in 2011 and 2012 has been the forced displacement of 28 journalists unable to practice their profession in their place of residence.
We decided to release this infographic to refresh the memory of citizens about what the situation is with the press right now and what the authorities have to say.
